021 I Couldn't Sleep Last Night

I couldn't sleep last night. The drawing bug was in me, so I had to draw some more. This is just a simple (and rough) concept costume drawing for my revised Pris character.

020 The Weight of Drawing

Today I was really feeling the weight of not having drawn anything pressing down on me. It has been awhile since I've painted or drawn anything original, so I decided that maybe I'd start working on some little exercises in conceptual character design. This little rough sketch is a result of that line of thought. This is supposed to be an alternate design of Pris, a character from Blade Runner. I started with her because she was my favourite. I plan on colouring it sometime....maybe. Mostly I am just hoping and praying that this will help me get out of my funk I seem to be in as of late.

I've made lots of new stuff and have been neglecting to post them to my blog. It wasn't on purpose. I just started a facebook listing for my jewelry and was concentrating on that, but I'm up early today so I can post the new stuff. :)

017 A Bit of Ultraviolence @ the Disco

I finished up another pair of barbie earrings. These ones were a bit challenging to make as I was really wanting to use a complementary palette. I'm a huge fan of the blue/orange combo, so when I was these cute coral shoes I knew I was going to use some blue. After a few redesigns I finally got them to a place that I liked. I felt they looked very 80s inspired, but also kind of beautiful/garish so I threw in a nod to 'A Clockwork Orange'.

I'm digging the nautical stuff right now. You would think I lived on the coast, instead of the landlocked midwest. I think I'm just craving the California beaches!

015 Dance Parties are 4 Lovers

Pretty little earrings I made today. My friend gave me a bunch of lovely barbie shoes, so got busy today and made two new earrings for my shop. These are called, Dance Parties are 4 Lovers. The name is inspired by my own fondness for high heels, dancing and partying with my LUVS!
