06 Adventures in T-Shirt Land

I'm starting to get sick and something about being sick gets my brain kick started. It could be all the sleeping and crazy dreams, but somehow inspiration of some kind usually hits me. I guess I wouldn't say inspiration has hit me so much today as some kind of creative energy.

So I decided to start working on a t-shirt design for the website, www.threadless.com. Of course there are no guarantees the design will be accepted, but I'm trying to look at this as a new experience and potentially a new skill. Initially I was just going to use a watercolour I'd scanned in, but after trying to remove all the white background that transfers in with a jpeg I decided that the original image wasn't going to work.

So my solution was to try to create a digital illustration in Illustrator. I was hesitate because technically I've never done one or even been shown how to do one. So this an experiment. I'm not finished yet, but I just wanted to post what I have done.
