I finally signed up for an Etsy.com account. I haven't posted anything yet, but I'm hoping to clear up some space by getting rid of some prints from college. I am hoping I can make some extra money to buy supplies to frame my current work. My goal this year, as far as selling artwork, is to make enough watercolours to have a show at a local, art friendly restaurant. I have yet to approach anyone about it because I want to amass a significant amount of finished pieces first.
The last few weeks I have been slacking on my "one watercolour a week". I've been busy with other projects, mostly graphic design stuff. Nothing has come out impressive enough to share, but it has invigorated a desire in me, to see what I can do art wise on the computer. I am currently interested in learning how to create digital illustrations. I have seen quite a few really impressive works by other artist online and have found myself increasingly wanting to learn how. Right now I'm attempting to teach myself, but I am keeping my eyes open for people around me with experience, stuff online and of course maybe a class. I am always up for taking a class!
I have been experimenting in CS2 Illustrator and am slowly falling in love with it. I discovered I can actually use it! I am producing really novice stuff, but hopefully I can figure out how to make some really clean, detailed stuff if I keep at it!
